Breadth Data for ProShares

By Arthur B. Hill - Wed 06-Jun-07 11:34 AM EDT

Even though we do not produce breadth data and charts for the ProShares ETFs, we do produce breadth data and charts for comparable ETFs. The sector and industry ProShares are based on Dow Jones Industry Groups and Sectors. So are many of the iShares. This means you can use the breadth data from these iShares and apply it to the ProShares. The table below shows select ProShares ETFs and their breadth counterparts.

The ProShares are known for their Short and UltraShort ETFs that produce gains under bearish conditions. Therefore, traders and investors should look for bearish setups on comparable breadth charts. For example, the UltraShort Dow30 (DOG) goes up when the Dow Diamonds (DIA) goes down.
